Vacation time

I am off for two weeks vacation. Blogging will be stagnant over this period. If you have to guess where I am then you really have not read this blog much.

The never ending dock

It just keeps growing and growing and growing...

A bit of a plug for Shoremaster. If you are looking for a dock that is lite, sturdy, easy to put in and take out, has many options and is easy to reconfigure or add on to, seriously check out Shoremaster. Available at Martin Motor Sports.

Shortly after I took these pictures, another boat hoist was placed beside the pontoon boat with the red covering. I'll try to get a night shot with the solar lights all a glow at some point over the summer.

Moose Portage

If you are heading to the east end of Fawcett Lake and take what is known as the "low road", you will come across these two buildings in a hay field. They are the remains of the Moose Portage post office that was in operation from 1928 through to 1957.

Moose Portage is also a part of the Old
Peace River Trail
(PDF document)

If you continue north to the T intersection and hang a left, on your right you will see the Moose Portage cemetery. More on that at a later date.

Gone Fishing

Blogging will continue after this all too short of a fishing trip. Have a great weekend and take a kid fishing!

It was a nice day for a drive

The sun broke through the clouds every now and then but the wind did not let up until late Saturday evening. Needless to say we did not get out to do the water sampling. Apparently churned up water does not make for good samples. We shall try again June 20th.

I did get out for a couple hours Saturday evening. Caught a few small walleye and northern's but nothing to write home about. It was just nice to get back out on the lake, relax, wet the line and enjoy life.
